King David's Mission Statement – Counseling One Another

While some celebrate in the streets of America others remain home. Some are no doubt happy about the results of the election while others are frustrated, sad, disenchanted, disappointed, fearful, or a number of unhappy emotions. I think I can say that whether you are a Joe Biden supporter or prefer Donald Trump, in these times of the Coronavirus, we are all afraid.

With such a close election, it is hard to know what words of encouragement I can provide my fellow internet readers. Joe Biden and Donald Trump are both only human. They will make good and bad decisions alike. No choice they make will have the complete support of every political party, ethnic group, race, sex, or religion. Mankind will always be disappointed in a sinful world.

If you have read my blog, you know I am a fan of President Trump. While he is far from perfect, he had done some excellent things as President. I am weary of a change right now in the middle of a pandemic. However, I realize that no leader has all the answers. We must instead rely on God. He is always in control of all creation. We do not know his plan for today, this week, the month, year or our lifetime. All we know is that faith will guide us, until we see Him either after death or at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

In the Old Testament, David went through a good deal of hardship. He failed from time to time as we all do. David experienced threats on his life and kingship. Yet, he demonstrated his faith in God with his Psalms. I have pasted a copy of my favorite Psalm below. It helps me to see that I am not in control, only God.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Please pray for President-Elect Joe Biden and President Donald Trump. They both need God’s advice and blessing.

Some might call me a Conservative others a Moderate. My core beliefs: 1) Christian 2) Republican 3) Pro First and Second Amendments 4) Our country is not racist, neither are most people. Unfortunately, there is hate and distrust among individuals of all colors. New laws, violent protests, and arguing will not solve anything. We must change the heart. 5) Legalize marijuana. There are those who have no other alternative to relieve pain, especially among our disabled, ill, and disabled Veterans. 6) Jesus Christ will return sooner than we expect. (Just my belief)
