Who is responsible for the Coronavirus Pandemic? That is a question on my mind every time I cover my face with a mask. Who or Whom is responsible for a disease that affect every person in the world? While, no one seems to have the answer, one country keeps being brought up; China.
Whether China developed the virus as a bioweapon, or simply didn’t disclose the existence of the virus to the world, are they responsible for the millions of deaths, injuries, loss of income, and attack on our practice of trade, religion, and social life? Should they be punished?
Years back, I had the opportunity to teach in part of China. I had some great students and continued to teach online after leaving their country. One can hardly hold individual citizens responsible for the actions of their leaders or can we? The people make up the government but we all know that in a Communist country, only a handful have any real say.
If we were to punish China, what would be our options? Would war solve anything? What about a tactical strike? Could an economic boycott or a travel ban deliver a message to the People’s Republic of China?
President Trump is getting ready to leave office. Joe Biden, someone with possible Chinese business connections (or his son’s connections) raise serious concerns over whether Sleepy Joe would “punish” China. I believe he will “kiss up” to them as well as our “enemies” in Iran. I wish I could have more confidence in him but as an agent of Obama, I don’t expect any changes from the previous administration.
We are left to wonder what China’s role was in the COVID-19 pandemic. Were they responsible? if so, what could be done to show our disgust? I am sorry to say it but I don’t think we will ever know what happened. China, if guilty, will not be punished by mankind. However, we all will face judgment, when our LORD returns. Perhaps, God is the best answer for China’s fate. Only He knows all.
